As many of you know, Lent started yesterday and lots of people were talking about what they were going to give up. I can’t help but think of the movie 40 days and 40 nights with Josh Harnett. That was such a good movie, don’t you think? Anyway, I spent all day trying to come up with stuff I would be willing to go without. This wasn’t an easy task for me. I thought about alcohol and going out but that would be too easy because as it is, I don’t do drink or go out that often. I thought about giving up texting but can’t do that because otherwise I wouldn’t talk to anyone. I hate dislike with a passion talking on the phone and would much rather text. So then I thought what else is something I can need to give up. Something that would better my health and then the answer hit me…Fast Food and Candy Bars!
I’ve come to realize that I am addicted to Candy Bars. It’s all my works fault too. They put out a basket full of candy bars and when I get hungry I go straight for a Snickers, Reece cup (my all-time fav), M&Ms, and the list goes on. I’ve realized that now I crave them so much that I want eat them every day. So it just seemed right to give them up. I think I’m going through DTs though. I have to pass by them every day when I go to the fridge or get water from the dispenser. My self-control is getting a run for its money because I want a dang candy bar!
Fast Food seems to always be my choice for lunch when I forget or just don’t bring a lunch. Luckily, I don’t eat out to often but I still wanted to give it up all together. My goal is to make healthier lunches and try to eat a little better.
So what did you decide to give up for Lent?

February 24, 2012 at 3:05 pmIs it bad if I say still deciding? I sometimes try to be extra nice or do more kind things & compliment more people ect. I’m not really one for bad habits on eating & I go through food phases so it’s tough for me to ban one particular thing. I should give up Pinterest right?? Just kidding….
