Raise your hand if you like Fedora hats? I do! I have a straw Fedora hat I got off Amazon and I wear that thing all the time in summer. It’s great to wear while laying out at the pool to keep the sun off my face. Yet, I can put on a cute summer outfit and wear it out to dinner too. It’s one of the hats in my closet that I feel is most versatile and can be worn for multiple occasions.
If you read my last post, then you know American Hat Makers sent me a couple hats to try. One of which is the Fedora hat I’m about to share with you. You guys, this hat is so stinkin’ cute! I’ve already found multiple outfits to wear it with and can’t wait for cooler weather to come back around so I can wear it more often.
This is the “Summit” hat. I feel like this hat blends western charm with modern sophistication. It could be worn while you’re out riding or worn to a Saturday night bon fire. I love that the hat is brown and black because the only pairs of tall boots I have are brown and black, so I can wear this with either! 🙂
Story Time
A little back story on why I chose this hat. I love going to Leatherwood Mountains and if you’ve been a follower of this blog then you’ve seen me write about it multiple times. It’s one of my favorite places to camp and ride. What makes Leatherwood so special is the community of people there. One night while I was at the restaurant listening to music, I saw a lady wearing a hat just like this one. It was fall and she had on an oversized sweater, jeans, tall boots and a fedora hat. Her hair was braided off to the side and she sat at the bar sipping on a glass of wine. I don’t know why her hat stuck out to me so much but it did. I remember loving the outfit with the hat and thinking “what a great way to wear a hat like that.” Truly, I can remember it clear as day even though this was years ago because I was so envious of her outfit that night.
So it only seemed fitting I make a trip to Leatherwood to get some pictures in the hat. 🙂
Ways to Wear This Hat
Ever since that night, I have loved these type of hats and seeing how people wear them. This particular hat I feel like can be worn with jeans, a sweater and tall boots. Or pair it with a black western style dress with a cute silver concho belt and cowboy boots. It’s perfect for meeting up with friends for dinner and drinks or attending a concert or outdoor event.
Yet, I also think this hat would be perfect to wear for a casual trail ride. Throw on a quilted vest or a flannel jacket and you’ve found a way to look cute while riding with minimal effort! Win win!
Another reason I personally like these hats is because I love how you can wear different hairstyles with it. Wear your hair down or do a side braid. No matter what you choose, I think you still get that cute rustic charm from it.
